This is a definite growth over the 301. I had several court cases with the 301:

I have had the 305 for roughly 6 weeks and am very pleased with it. It is my first GPS watch and has passed my expectations. I had learn the concerns with the altimeter and agree, it does not supply helpful or accurate data so no surprises there. The actual issue for me used to be how smartly it could degree distance.
